Microsoft and Beam announced the acquisition today at 8:00 AM PDT (11:00 AM EDT).

In a blog post, Beam's Co-Founder and CEO Matt Salsamendi announced the acquisition. "As part of Xbox, we’ll be able to scale faster than we’ve ever been able to before. We’re expanding the team, bolstering our infrastructure, and most importantly, continuing to grow and support the amazing community at Beam", he wrote. (

In an email with TechCrunch, Salsamendi further conveyed his optimism, "I'm really excited about Xbox's focus on community ... Beam is fundamentally built on a connected group of passionate individuals that love gaming, and Xbox is super in tune with that”.

Some may have feared this first party acquisition would be limiting and bad business for Beam. Not so, says Salsamendi, "So what changes for you? Nothing right now; we’re continuing our focus on providing streamers with the tools they need to create the most interactive broadcasts around. Beam is designed to work with any game, and we’ll continue to offer broadcasts across all gaming platforms, just as we do today. "

Seattle-based Salsamendi will lead Beam from Microsoft's Redmond campus as part of the Xbox engineering department.

Beam participated in TechCrunch's Startup Battlefield earlier this year. After presenting subsecond stream delay and interactivity, the team walked away with the win. In this-then-this fashion, Microsoft began to pursue an acquisition shortly after.
I want to give Leavaris a one-of-a-kind birthday present. Wearable Self-Admitted Humiliation!

See, Leav has this things with rocks. They ALWAYS triumph over him.

BDO? Horse stuck on a rock.
Ark? Same, but with a dinosaur.
Cross-out? Stuck again.

Time and time again, Leavaris, a man of the INFORMATION AGE... has lost to and raged because of digital replicas of the STONE AGE. As one stream viewer pointed out... Rocks are Leav's NATURAL enemy.

I want to immortalize this little fact on a T-Shirt. So I'm having a design contest.

Here are the basic rules:
  • Any designs are acceptable so long as they're a unique and original (aka your own) creation.
  • Must include "#RockBeatsLeav" within the design and tie in to the concept behind the shirt.
  • REMEMBER this is being screen printed. That means anything that cannot be accurately displayed with as few as 3-5 colors will significantly raise the cost of the end product.
    • If you feel like you can do ok with 3-5 but want to show it off in full flair, submit the 3-5 color version with other options attached.
  • Artists are encouraged to sign the design/artwork. I will do everything in my power to make sure your signature is quite legible. I don't need you to make it huge. Stay classy with it. This is more of a badge of honor/bragging rights, less of an advertising opportunity.

How do I submit my entry?:
  • Submit entries directly to Pixel via Discord.
  • All entries must be received by May 25th 2016 @ 11:59:59 PM Eastern (-5 GMT).
  • Pixel will select and announce the winning design by June 1st 2016 @ 11:59:59 PM Eastern (-5 GMT).

Upon submission of an entry, you as an individual are agreeing to the following:

The artist of the winning entry is transferring all legal and artistic license, claims, and rights as the creator of the concept, design, and original creation and any future replications; directly to MrPixelTech. The artist understands that they will NOT be allowed to use the work any further outside of referencing it for a professional portfolio.

The above in plain English is this: If you submit an entry, that means you agree to the stuff above. The stuff above says If you win, I get all ownership/claim/rights/etc when it comes to the design - It's mine, I own it at that point. Because you would have voluntarily, and willingly, agreed to transfer those things to me. Just to be clear, if you win, you have no more rights to it.

I'm clearly beating a dead horse here... but I want to make sure there's no confusion over whether or not we can run like... a limited edition reprint of the shirt for you guys, etc in the future. And so you don't feel robbed because you didn't understand that it's mine, and not yours anymore. Ok, I'm done...

HAVE FUN WITH IT.... MAKE IT EPIC! Rocks have been reclassified as a danger to the wild Leavaris' natural habitat. Help with our awareness campaign....
That is correct, a stream has now created a lipstick that can replace your key board. Still using the mouse for basic aim, switching weapons, and firing the weapon the lip stick controls the x-axis and y-axis movement.

The streamer goes by the name of Desmoineaux has stated in an email, “Counter-Strike is one of those games that's mainly attributed to a male audience. Lipstick for girls, war games for boys. Fuck that! I can mix it up... If it visually works and the resulting effect is comical, maybe it’s because we all use shortcuts and stereotypes embedded in our heads. It's in this spirit that I got the idea for Lipstrike.”

This kind of thinking is something that can make a video game community stronger. I think with an idea like this it will spark inspiration in other people to show off how smart and different people can be by coming up with different ways to play different games.

This just shows us that you can accomplish anything if you try hard enough. Who ever thought it would be possible to play video games and do you make up at the same time?

Inner Chains is an FPS post apocalyptic horror. You embark on a planet, in the distant future, that seems to be a shadow of the former Earth - encountering the new bio-mechanical inhabitants. Your opponents? Deadly, intelligent and challenging. Inner Chain has amazing graphics and with a great concept that seems to tie the two worlds of horror and FPS genres together in a way that has never been seen before.

Inner Chains will be released on steam directly and have VR integration out of the box. The graphics could easily contend with titles coming out of highly respected AAA studios.

Inner Chains was created from a company, Telepaths Tree, based out of Warsaw, Poland. They have a very strong development team which has worked on titles such as Gears of War, Dying Light, and The Witcher 3.

With pedigree like that and the novelty alone of a VR FPS/Horror genre game, i do not see a reason for this game to be successful. Though there have been many crowdfunded failures in the past, or the ever-common "Permanent Early Release" syndrome. They have the experience and talent to produce a game that will make for a very aesthetically pleasing and entertaining video game.

We've decided to launch another ARK: Survival Evolved Server.

Here's the information.

With the Nvidia driver update 364.51 people have been experiencing some graphical problems with the game The Division. Some of the problems people have been complaining about are drops in framerate, inconsistencies with refresh rates, freezing, and failure to start games. Nvidia has not removed the update as of yet. But, if you are a Nvidia user and have installed the update, click here to download a display driver uninstall utility. This will allow you to uninstall the update and install the more stable 362.00 update.

Nvidia has also released a guide to maximize graphical and system performance. The guide can be found here. This guide includes 25 tweaks that will increase performance with tweaking the including texture quality, anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, anisotropic filtering, and object detail options. It also includes help on fixing other problems such as screen stuttering and v-sync tearing, along with a tutorial on overclocking.

Nvidia's The Division PC Graphics Guide Helps Improve Performance has proven to be a bit much for Leavaris and Pixel. We're reaching out to the community to help us with the following (Note: these are all volunteer positions):

Content contributors
Write articles/blogs/etc about ClubNub, the team casters, and gaming/streaming in general. Commitment of 3-10 entries a week expected. Separately, forum moderation positions are available.

Graphics Artists
Design emoticons for our partnered streamers, overlays, buttons, backgrounds, avatars, etc.

Video Editors/Compositors
Cut together highlight reels, work with individual casters to create intro's/outro's/break segements, etc.

Write new bots using Beam/Twitch APIs, write Node.JS code (via NodeCG) to implement better transitions/overlays.

The above positions are NON PAYING/PURELY VOLUNTEER positions! We are looking for people who already are or want to be a part of ClubNub and possess these skills.

We will, however, write glowing letters of recommendation and fully allow any and all of your work to be used in portfolios for acquiring gainful employment (Hey, if we're not going to pay you, the least we could do is attempt to help you get a paying job...)

That being said, outside of use for portfolios, all writing, artwork, and video clips/composition will remain the sole property of and/or the broadcaster they were designed for.

If you are interested, please apply directly within the comments or message pixel on Discord.
